The data platform Snowflake or Databricks
Large analytical data leaves differently. Databricks keeps Delta tables in your own bucket, so they leave as normal egress. Snowflake keeps data in its own storage: you pay warehouse credits to unload it and Snowflake's own transfer fee to move it out.

How we calculate
- List prices, on-demand, excluding VAT, no discounts, reserved instances or savings plans. The current-cloud run cost uses .
- Egress tiers are applied as if all data leaves in one month. Spread over several months, the free allowance repeats and the first, most expensive tier applies again each month.
- Faster ways out (checked 26 Oct 2026): AWS Direct Connect pay-as-you-go and flat-rate pricing (from 15 Sep 2026), Azure ExpressRoute and Data Box from the Azure retail prices API, Google Cloud Interconnect list prices. Cross-connect, EU-side line and lead time are estimates. A private line only fits a move to your own data centre or colocation rack: Hetzner, Scaleway and most EU clouds sell no direct-connect product (OVHcloud Connect is the exception), so for those the internet route applies. The free-egress-for-leaving programmes of all three clouds cover internet transfers only.
- Snowflake credit prices and transfer fees are from Snowflake's Service Consumption Table (effective 15 Oct 2026), on-demand rates. Unloading to a bucket in the same region has no Snowflake transfer fee. Unload speed is not published: the default (about 0.1 TB per credit) is an estimate, so time a sample unload and enter your own.
